For the dough
2 cups of all-purpose flour
3 level tbsp. of butter
2 egg yolks
1 whole egg
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. brandy
For the syrup
Aoritiko Honey
Water
For sprinkling
walnuts
cinnamon
Preparing the dough
Mix the flour, the butter, the eggs beaten roughly with a fork, the sugar and brandy to a firm dough. Knead it well and roll out to a sheet onto a flour-sprinkled surface. Cut in narrow strips which you can also tie in a knot if you wish. Deep fry the strips into hot olive oil until golden brown.
For the syrup
Simmer Aoritiko Honey and half its quantity in water in a pot. When reduced to a syrup, sprinkle it over the rolls to cover them. Alternatively you can immerse the rolls in the syrup first with a net ladle and after you set them up in the dish, pour the rest of the honey over them.
To serve, amply sprinkle with crushed walnuts and cinnamon
